ELOS is a unique combination of bipolar radio frequency and light energy. Both are simultaneously active during treatment. What happens during the ELOS treatment?
On the treatment area a gel is applied that allows the pulse energy to penetrate deep into the skin. The pulse can be experienced as tingling. In a split second, all hair follicles present in the treated area are eliminated.
Is the ELOS treatment safe?
The built-impedance meter makes sure that no overtreatment can takes place. The handpiece has a built-in cooling, so the skin is cooled during treatment. ELOS is less damaging to the skin, as more use of bipolar RF and less of the light energy.

Successful treatment for everyone?
The success of treatment depends on several factors, such as the transition. The hormone can interfere during this period the effect of treatment. Medication can also affect the outcome of treatment. Sometimes more treatments will be needed than average.

Are the results permanent?
ELOS treatments do not provide permanent hair removal. Beware the term "permanent". There's no laser, flashlight or ELOS system (IPL) which may make this claim. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved ELOS and some laser and flash lamp systems for the permanent reduction of hair growth.
This means that it will give to more than 90% of candidates to treat a long-term reduction of hair growth. If the hair comes back, it’s usually thinner and one single treatment is enough to eliminate these hair follicles too.
Is the treatment painful?
The sensitivity can differ per treatment area, the ELOS-pulse can be experienced as tingling. The treatment is less painful than resins or electric hair removal.
How many treatments are necessary?
The treatment is only effective if the hair is in the active growth phase. At any given time, depending on the location, approximately 25% of the hair will be in this growth phase. This means that during any treatment up to 25% of the active hair is turned off.
With each treatment, the hair growth is reduced. Once sufficient remaining hair have reached the active growth phase a new treatment is performed. Depending on the treatment area an average of 6 to 12 treatments are needed to achieve the desired result.
